QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Politics
(Each "Question of the Week," an idea which I gleaned from A Republic If You Can Keep It, will remain toward the top of the blog until the next question appears. The previous Questions of the Week are HERE. Please scroll down for recent postings)
A year and a half in advance of the 2008 National Elections, we're watching prospective candidates attempting to define the issues on which they will run if they are named to the ballot. Recently, several prospective Republican candidates have been televised in broadcasts promoted as debates, although I dispute the terminology "debates" for the format used.
---------------------------------------------------
QUESTION OF THE WEEK, in two parts: (1) What do you view as the most important issue for the 2008 National Election? (2) Have any of the candidates who have announced so far addressed that issue in a manner which would lead you to support that candidate?
If you view that more than one issue is of imperative importance, feel free to include more than one. After all, casting one's ballot should be a reflection of one's consideration of more than one issue.
Addendum: Synchronicity! Vote in MSNBC's poll on the issues.
Deadline = Midnight ET, June 7!
