Joe Wilson's Outburst At Last Night's ObamaKare Speech To Congress
(Two posts today. Please scroll down)
I watched all of BHO's speech last night. Every single minute. We can discuss the speech itself in the comments section.
The focus of this post, however, is twofold: Joe Wilson's shout-outs of "You lie!" and "Not true!" and other behavior from the Republican side of the aisle.
Immediately following BHO's address to Congress last night, Roger Simon wrote the following essay at Politico:
...At one point, Republican Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina was bad-mannered enough to shout, “You lie!” (If Democrats had shouted “you lie” every time they thought a Republican president had lied to them, Richard Nixon would still be speaking.)In my view, those outbursts by Joe Wilson may do damage to the Republican Party's position on health-care reform.
And we also have this, also from Roger Simon's essay:
For 46 minutes, cameras captured Republicans sitting on their hands, shaking their heads or playing with their BlackBerrys.I find our elected public servants' playing with BlackBerrys inappropriate during a Presidential address to Congress.
Please share your views on the above-cited behavior of Republicans last night. Also, feel free to discuss BHO's speech.
