More Whining From Moslems

Note: Another recent post (of a few minutes ago) below this one. Please scroll down.

The following (hat tip to Infidel Bloggers Alliance) shows how insane this Muslim whining has become:

My brief commentary below the fold:

So, enforcing safety regulations is now racism and religious discrimination?

Multiculturalism has led to a descent into madness!

And the Moslems keep pushing, pushing, pushing.

CAIR Drops The Mask

Hat tip to Infidel Bloggers Alliance, citing this source:
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., Nov. 3, 2010 — On Thursday, November 4, the Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OK) will hold a news conference with religious and civil rights leaders in the State Capitol Building to announce the filing of a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of an anti-Islam ballot measure (State Question 755) passed in yesterday’s election. The measure amends the state constitution to forbid judges from considering Islamic law or international law when making a ruling.
In the post at Infidel Bloggers Alliance, Pastorius makes this very important point:
Let us be clear, it is not simply that they are religious zealots. Sharia law is the law of the land in Saudi Arabia and many other Muslim countries. When a person, or a group of people advocate for the replacement of our system of law with that of another country, that is called Sedition.
In effect, CAIR is advocating the subversion of our law of the land, the United States Constitution.

Read more about CAIR's real agenda HERE at Anti-CAIR. The information at that site has been available for years, yet our government continues to forge ties with CAIR. Why, why, why?

CAIR's "Debate" Tactics

Video of Nihad Awad, founder and executive director of CAIR, below the fold. You must watch this!

Now, why don't any of these news Fox News Channel anchors and pundits, including even Bill O'Reilly, call Nihad Awad's hand on THIS INFORMATION about his background, including but not limited to the quotation below?
“I am a supporter of the Hamas movement.”
Nihad Awad is quite the spokesperson to advocate the Ground Zero Mosque, huh?

Read more about Nihad Awad HERE at The Investigative Project On Terrorism.

CAIR Sues DuPage County, Illinois

For not granting a permit to build an Islamic center:
The Council on American and Islamic Relations sued DuPage County Board Chairman Bob Schillerstrom and several other county officials Thursday over the refusal to grant a permit to build an Islamic learning center.

Alleging violations of the First Amendment (free exercise of religion, speech and assembly), the 14th Amendment (equal protection) and the 2000 Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act, Chicago-CAIR is charging that the county unfairly discriminated against the proposed Irshad Learning Center, an Islamic institution...
Not a surprise, really, that CAIR is attempting this.

I can't imagine that CAIR can win this one. But in these days of surreal inversionism, who knows?

Airport Body Scanners Haram?

Citing the Koran and apparently seeking a religious exemption,
...[The Fiqh Council of North America and the Council on Islamic Relations]...say that body scanners are un-Islamic. Very well. There may be plenty of reasons to oppose body scanners, but when they put it this way, they suggest they'd be just fine with some sort of exemption from such scanning for Muslims. That would mean that the one group that would be subjected to lighter airport security checks than any other group would be...Muslims.
Read the rest HERE.

Talk about irony! It is Moslems that have made all these security measures necessary in the first place!

The big question: Will the West bow to yet another manifestation of Islamic supremacism?

CAIR Stoops To Yet Another Low

Note to family and friends: Updates on Mr. AOW are now being added to this post.

CAIR is using the Fort Hood massacre to promote a fundraiser. Excerpt from the CAIR letter below the fold, from this source:
We need financial help to meet these crises and push back against those who seek to score political points off the Muslim community in the wake of the Fort Hood tragedy.
Also note this paragraph:
Our tone and immediate response is paying off. Major media acknowledged the strong statement that American Muslims issued condemning the Fort Hood attack. On CNN, Anderson Cooper reported that CAIR “reacted to the shooting spree, condemning the attack in the strongest terms possible.” ON MSNBC’s Hardball, Chris Matthews noted that CAIR was “quick to condemn the massacre.”
The letter is signed by Nihad Awad, CAIR's National Executive Director.

Read the entire letter HERE. Be sure to check out the postscript.

May CAIR's resources be strained to the breaking point.

Dearbornistan, Michigan: June 21, 2009. Our Nation's Capital: July 4, 2009

(Hat tip to THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS, via Infidel Bloggers Alliance, for the video in this posting)

First, some background for the video.

According to the Detroit News on June 17, 2009, an evangelical group called Arabic Christian Perspective has filed a law suit against the city of Detroit for violating the group's access to the 14th annual Dearborn Arab International Festival:

A group that aims to convert Muslims to Christianity has sued the city of Dearborn and its Police Department, claiming the city is violating its free speech and religious rights by limiting its access to patrons at this weekend's 14th annual Dearborn Arab International Festival.

The group, Arabic Christian Perspective, filed a lawsuit Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Detroit, alleging its rights were violated when Dearborn police told the group its members would not be able to walk freely through the festival's four- to five-block area passing out literature promoting Christianity over Islam. Organizers want to confine the group to a designated area, the lawsuit said.

[...]

The group says the city and festival organizers have no legal right to block them from public sidewalk....
Please take the time to watch all ten minutes of the following video portraying an occurrence at the festival:

The YouTube text is below the fold:

This is a video of David Wood and Nabeel Qureshi asking questions at Arabfest, Dearborn. The date is June 21st, 2009. There was a booth at the festival which had a banner titled "Islam: Got Questions? Get Answers." From their table, we picked up a pamphlet claiming that Islam promotes peace. We noticed that it was full of poor logic and errors, so we decided to make a video refuting it. We went to the booth that gave us the pamphlet to give them the opportunity to defend their claims. Security, however, stepped in and forced us to turn off our camera.

We left the booth, received advice from police, and found out that the actions of the security guards were illegal. We went back to the booth to record a potential answer again. Realizing that the Muslims present had no answer, we left.

When we came outside, we were asked some questions by two young men, who had been sent by security to entrap us. While we responded to them, festival security started assaulting us, as you will see in this video. The conclusion of this video is a mob of festival security attacking our cameras, pushing us back, kicking our legs, and lying to the police.

We ask you, is it a coincidence that the city with the highest percentage of Muslims in the United States is the city where Christianity is not allowed to be represented (let alone preached) on a public sidewalk?
Is it coincidence that in this city, people will say "No way!" when we say "This is the United States of America"?

Is this what will happen when Islam takes over the United States?
I understand that Moslems resent having their worldview challenged. But if that's the case, then why put up a banner advertising answers about Islam and thereby challenge passersby to question Islam? Of course, if only Moslems are permitted to take up the challenge, then no real challenge has been issued.

The UK is often cited and even vilified by counter-jihadists for its dhimmitude in the face of Islamic supremacism and displays thereof.

I say, "America had better not be so smug." Today, the United States is on a similar path, albeit earlier on that path. Is it unreasonable to assume that Dearborn, Michigan, will become a no-go area for all infidels and that American rights there will no longer be recognized or upheld?

Lest one thinks that special treatment for Islamic supremacists is limited to Deabornistan, see THIS. Excerpt:
Former Federal Agent: "Then CAIR had cropped my head shot onto a Nazi uniform"

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), unindicted co-conspirators in a jihad terror funding case and an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is dedicated in its own words to "eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within," is holding its annual convention in Washington.

Dave Gaubatz, the first U.S. civilian (1811) Federal Agent deployed to Iraq in 2003 and owner of DG Counter-terrorism Publishing, registered to attend the convention, paid his fee, and showed up....
The rest HERE and more at Atlas Shrugs.

I previously posted on "evangelical" Rick Warren's dhimmitude with regard to the ISNA. By partnering with ISNA in dhimmitudinal interfaithing on July 4, the birthday of our land of freedom, he has given his tacit approval to Islamic supremacism, thus lulling even more people to sleep, if not into comas.

Wake up, America! The Islamist Fifth Column is making quiet headway.

CAIR Crows Over BHO

First thing on this morning's news, before I had even gotten down my first cup of coffee, one of the local news channels here welcomed CAIR's co-founder and Director Nihad Awad for a smarmy interview, in which the news anchor appeared thrilled to be graced with the presence of one of those Moslems to whom BHO has reached out at least three times since taking office last January 20 — most recently, yesterday in Turkey.
-------
In this morning's interview, according to Nihad Awad, who participated in a 1993 Hamas meeting in the United States — a fact apparently unknown by the interviewer — BHO is an American President who understands the following: "American Muslims have suffered tremendously since 9/11." Perennial victimhood in the typical style of CAIR, and the news anchor nodded both solemnly and eagerly in agreement as she sucked down the Kool-aid in huge gulps.

I, on the other hand, nearly choked on my coffee. Mr. AOW uttered several expletives and muttered, "Not nearly enough." I started to enumerate the numerous sycophantic, post-9/11 concessions made to Moslems — wudu washers in airports and universities, Ramadan celebrations in the White House, the whitewash and promotion of Islam in our schools' textbooks, and the continued operation of the Islamic Saudi Academy — but gave up. Why bother ranting and raving first thing in the morning? Mr. AOW's back is killing him as it is, and he knows all those facts anyway.

A few more quotes from Nihad Awad, but not in this morning's interview:

"I am in support of the Hamas movement."

"We Should Not Blame The United States Alone For The 11 September 2001 Attacks"

[...]

"Address people according to their minds. When I speak with the American, I speak with someone who doesn't know anything."
Clearly, that last statement applies to the morning-news anchor, who didn't have a clue as to the facts about Nihad Awad.

And so it goes.

I expect BHO to partner with CAIR as his administration searches for Moslems to place therein, and America as a whole will be just fine with such a partnership. CAIR will, of course, be salivating with delight and power. The public relations machine for Islamism has worked very well, to the detriment of America's future.

CAIR Flunks Out

And at taxpayers' expense, too.
-------
From this September 1, 2008 article by Patrick Poole:
The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) released their annual school report cards this week, and the results show that two taxpayer-financed Islamic charter schools operated by officials of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) have failed miserably yet again. But protected by powerful political connections, including Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman, and apparently indifferent to their exploitation of the Somali children that comprise the vast majority of their students, the Islamic extremists running the operation appear to have no fear of losing their cash cows. In fact, Ohio educrats have renewed one school’s contract after five years of complete academic failure.

The two schools, International Academy and Westside Academy, are run by a group of local Islamic leaders, including CAIR national board vice chairman Ahmad Al-Akhras, CAIR-Columbus president and CAIR-Ohio board member Abukar Arman, and Islamic Society of Greater Columbus president and imam Mouhamed Tarazi (who serves as principal of one of the schools). At one time or another, all have served on the board of the local private Islamic school in Central Ohio, Sunrise Academy.
[about which I recently posted at Infidel Bloggers Alliance and thereby created quite a stir in the comments section there]

[...]

...[S]ince International Academy opened, it has never met the state’s required “adequate yearly progress” standard and has never met more than two of the state indicators. Looking at the past three years of academic performance data, we find in four of the seven tested areas, test scores declined last year from the previous year.

The second school, Westside Academy, appears to be following in its older brother’s failing footsteps. Their state report card shows that they met state standards in one area — attendance. Across all grade levels and subjects, less than 20 percent of their students rated proficient or better. In one subject area, 3rd grade math, the school achieved zero percent proficiency....
Both schools do excel in Islamic extremism, however. Read page 2 of Patrick Poole's article HERE. How much of the same hate-filled ideology is being taught in other Islamic schools all over the United States?

We Americans look across The Pond and think to ourselves, often smugly, that the UK's dhimmitude and lack of measures to control Wahhabist infiltration are the height of stupidity and that we will never let the same happen here. But some signs indicate that we already are allowing the same to happen here.

The ACLU Advises Moslems

Not a surprise, of course.
---------
Excerpt from this article in the LA Times:
May 29, 2008

A report that mosques in Los Angeles and San Diego are under federal surveillance has resurrected fears in the Muslim community about government monitoring and led two civil rights groups Wednesday to call for congressional hearings.

[...]

Corey Saylor, Washington spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said the article in the San Diego Union-Tribune "has again raised concerns that our community is being watched."

[...]

ACLU lawyers regularly go to mosques to advise worshipers that they do not have to answer questions from FBI agents about how long they have been in the United States, how often they attend services and what they get out of the sermons...
How many jihadomaniacs are hiding behind the ACLU's lawyers?

Crossposted at THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS , where Reliapundit comments as follows:
amazing: the aclu actually has an outreach program to teach disobedience and obfuscation to potential enemies.

this is treason.

at the very least, this is like a mob lawyer who advise his mafia clients on how to set up rackets in advance of doing crime.

lawyers are then not representing clients, but part of the criminal enterprise.

lawyers have done time for this, and the aclu should be busted for this.

CAIR Loses Status?

According to this February 18, 2008 update from the United American Committee, CAIR, whose shady connections have been well exposed by Andrew Whitehead of the web site Anti-CAIR (among others), CAIR may have come down a peg or two (emphases mine):
A major victory in the fight against Jihad has apparently occurred. Somewhere in the dead of night, without any known announcement from the organization, the highly controversial Washington DC based group CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations has apparently lost the tax status which enabled it to conduct lobbying activities. The organization was registered for many years under the IRS tax code 501c(4) which allowed the organization to conduct lobbying activities, campaign funding, legislation and candidate backing, and many other government and litigation related activities. A 501c(4) tax status is very difficult to maintain, requiring quarterly public filings, and is very regulated under strict lobbying laws, yet is the most powerful tax status for organizations wishing to influence government. CAIR, who was under this status, had numerous members of their leadership indicted on terrorism related charges in the past, and had received large amounts of funding from questionable foreign sources. Many critics of the group often wondered how CAIR was able to hold on to such a highly critiqued tax status such as 501c(4). In contrast there is another tax status which is much weaker, and one that is very easy for most anyone to receive, and that status is 501c(3), a status which U.S. tax laws prohibit such organizations from engaging in large amounts of lobbying and government influence activities, it is a status for educational groups and churches, which is greatly restricted in the ability to influence any kind of legislation. CAIR has recently downgraded the description of their organization on their website to 501c(3). While calls to their office could not confirm the reasons, it appears that CAIR may have lost the status as of the first of this year.

Note, the current organization description on CAIR's website reads:
"CAIR is a not-for-profit organization recognized as tax-exempt under U.S. Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3)."

While internet archives of the site as of June 2007 read as follows:
"The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is a nonprofit 501(c)(4), grassroots civil rights and advocacy group."

Chalk one up for the good guys.
Could there be a connection with CAIR's recent tussle with Michael Savage?

Or is CAIR backing off because the organization dare not open financial records to the light of day as was the case in CAIR's law suit against Andrew Whitehead of Anti-CAIR?

Audio, about ten minutes in length and worth your time:

Read more details about CAIR's unsuccessful law suit against Anti-CAIR, a site which contains the same information it has always provided.

Let's see if CAIR publishes any kind of response to the above update from the United American Committee. Of course, CAIR may do what the organization does best — stonewall or spin the story.

Canning The Koran

On August 8, 2007, Andy Whitehead of Anti-CAIR released this statement entitled "My Turn on Civil Rights." Excerpt:

Stanislav Shmulevich of Brooklyn has been arrested on charges of criminal mischief and aggravated harassment for allegedly placing a Koran (Islam's Holy Book) in a toilet at Pace University.

While most Americans can agree that placing a book in a toilet is disrespectful, is it really a crime?

[...]

Shmulevich put a book in the toilet. But did he call for his religion to be dominant in America? Did he publicly call for support for terrorists who are killing American citizens? Did he salute terrorists who commit suicide attacks? Did he trample our flag in the street?

What Shmulevich did was in bad taste, it was insulting, but it was no crime.

Freedom of speech is my birthright as an American citizen; it is a gift from God codified by our founding fathers in our great Constitution.

To silence my voice would be to silence my soul; no man has, or ought to have, that power.

If we won't stand up for Shmulevich, who will stand up for us when the time comes ... ?
Read the entire essay.

Steve Harkonnen has also blogged about this article. Comments there have gotten interesting, and I advise that you take a look. Mr. Whitehead himself has made a comment specifically about the law suit which CAIR filed against him and which was dismissed with prejudice.

This morning, I happened across this article in the American Spectator (emphases mine):
Stanislav Shmulevich, the student at New York's Pace University arrested for desecrating a stolen Koran, probably did not realize he was committing a felony hate crime. There is after all no statute criminalizing the desecration of the U.S. flag, the Torah, or the Bible. New York's galleries are filled with defiled and despoiled Christian symbols that are considered by critics to be ingenious works of art. Perhaps on his way to class Shmulevich admired some of these works. Perhaps he did not consider his desecration of the holy Koran an example of protected free expression so much as a clever bit of conceptual art. Besides, Shmulevich, a Ukrainian immigrant, was now in America, a nation that boasted of its separation of church of state and long tradition of free speech. Indeed, the 22-year-old student was at first arrested for misdemeanor vandalism, and it was not until the application of significant pressure (some might say intimidation) from Islamic groups that the charge was upped to a hate crime.

Ignorance of the law, however, is no excuse, even when such statutes are applied or prosecuted arbitrarily. In the case of hate crimes, the rule of thumb seems to be that what is a crime for one group is protected speech for another. The difficulty is determining whether you are "one" or "another." As Jacob Sullum writes: hate crime statutes treat "perpetrators of the same crime differently because they hold different beliefs."

Allow me to clarify the rules.

It is not a crime to desecrate Christian symbols, but it is a crime to desecrate other religious symbols, unless you are a Muslim desecrating Jewish symbols which is not a crime, but protected "speech."

While it is no crime to desecrate the American flag, it would be (in New York, at least) a crime to desecrate the flag of an Islamic country. The Saudi flag bears the Islamic declaration of faith "I testify that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger," a reminder that in Arab countries church and state are inseparable. Burn a Saudi flag and you will not only get tossed in a New York slammer in a New York minute, you will be starting an international incident and worldwide jihad that would make the second intifada look like a tiff over who rides shotgun.

The New York statute reads in part: "A person commits a hate crime when he or she commits a specified offense and...intentionally commits the act or acts constituting the offense...because of a belief or perception regarding the...
...religion [or] religious practice...of a person, regardless of whether the belief or perception is correct."

Hate crimes legislation, created by timid, cowardly, and pressure-group-influenced legislators, therefore coopts and renders null and void the freedom of expression clause of the First Amendment, which was designed by courageous legislators, true revolutionaries who had put their necks on the line to protect the criticism of religion.

But it is not hate crime statutes that prevent many Westerners from criticizing Islam, rather it is intimidation. As Christopher Hitchens has said, dumping the Koran in the toilet is not intimidation. Supporting the assassination of Salman Rushdie is. The former offends Muslim lobbying groups like the Council of Islamic-American Relations. The latter does not. It was intimidation by radical Muslims that prevented Western TV stations and newspapers from showing the very newsworthy Danish newspaper cartoons of a few years ago, though the media pretended their decisions were based on a reluctance to give offense. CNN admitted as much when it said it declined to show the cartoons because it did not want to put journalists in its foreign bureaus at risk. Such intimidation is not solely limited to Islam. You may recall that Seinfeld episode a few years back when Kramer accidentally set alight a Puerto Rican flag, then tried to put out the flames by stomping on it? That episode caused such consternation among Puerto Rican-Americans that NBC never again aired that particular show, and it is seldom seen in syndication. And Puerto Rico is part of the U.S.!

THE IMMEDIATE DIFFICULTY with New York's case is that Shmulevich did not commit his act against "a person" but "an ideology." There were no witnesses to his "illegal" actions. He was apprehended only after he was observed pilfering the holy books by the university's ubiquitous security cameras. Besides, if Shmulevich had really insulted Muslims he would have been prosecuted under the Fighting Words Doctrine, which criminalizes "insulting or 'fighting words,' those that by their very utterance inflict injury or tend to incite an immediate breach of the peace." But Shmulevich was not accused of violating the doctrine, doubtless because the U.S. Supreme Court has held that mere offensiveness does not qualify as "fighting words," which makes sense or people like me would pretty much get arrested every time we opened our mouths or wrote a column.

Shmulevich told his captors that he had tossed the Koran in the can following a row with Muslim students. His actions were then a reaction to something the Muslim students had said. What is unclear. Perhaps it was something about infidel Christians. Whatever it was, Shmulevich seems to have found it hateful or insulting. One wonders why he did not contact the authorities and have the Muslim students charged with a hate crime. On second thought, it is fairly obvious why. The authorities would have laughed in his face and told him to get a life, something they would never have said to the Muslim students.
In America, none of us has the Constitutional right not to be offended. In fact, the exercise of certain of our freedoms, particularly that of freedom of speech and freedom of the press, often offends someone else. Whatever happened to "Stick and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me"?

Yes, words can be psychologically hurtful, but in my view we have gone too far with the concept of psychological abuse. Indeed, some want to codify psychological abuse as a crime. Worse, as the article in the American Spectator states, a double standard is being applied, particularly for Muslims as certain groups such as CAIR flex their legal and lobbying muscles. Allowing Muslims in America to perpetuate a specialness is not the American way.

John Does Still Under Threat Of Law Suit

Via this posting at Little Green Footballs:

I’m informed by a reliable source that the Associated Press report we linked earlier today, that said CAIR and the flying imams had dropped their suits against anonymous passengers who reported the imams’ suspicious behavior, is not correct. Apparently the Associated Press got this wrong.

Repeat: CAIR has not dropped the “John Doe” lawsuits. They are still named.

Meanwhile, CAIR is trying to intimidate Young Americans for Freedom, where Robert Spencer is scheduled to speak today. According to this posting at The Center for Vigilant Freedom:

...[A]t no point does CAIR do what a responsible organization involved in an argument of political ideas would do, which is offer to take the stage with Spencer and debate his interpretation of Islamic theology....

Instead, CAIR rattles their sabres of legal jihad and makes demands. See this copy of the letter which the CAIR lawyer sent to Young Americans for Freedom.

How about this? We DEMAND that CAIR open their financial records--the real ones.

"We Are All John Doe"

From this source:
Pete King (R-NY) tried hard but the “John Doe” amendment protecting passengers’ rights to report suspicious behavior without being sued by CAIR in its Saudi-funded lawsuit jihad failed.
and
UPDATE (as of 9:30 p.m., July 19): Susan Collins (R-ME) submitted her “John Doe” passenger protection amendment for a vote in the Senate (S.A. 2340) but the amendment failed just 3 votes shy of the 60 needed to pass. Michelle Malkin has the vote roll of aye’s and nay’s here. No Republican voted against it, but Sam Brownback (R-CA) and Obama (D-IL) did not vote.Malkin points out that the final conference report could be a last place to add language protecting passengers who report suspicious behavior from lawsuits - but this is becoming more of a longshot.
So, time to gear up:

— Expect more probes of the 6 Flying Imams variety, especially as we go into the August vacation season.

— Bring a videocamera or video cell phone with you, so you can gather evidence as needed to protect yourself and your fellow passengers, from both terrorism and lawsuits. You can pick one up for less than $100 at Walmart (online price maybe cheaper in the store), Target, or Radioshack.

— It’s time for a Passenger Bill of Rights and Passenger Training. If we have to protect ourselves, so be it. Kyle Shideler did a great post on this on May 3, and I’m reposting it below or link here (A Passenger’s Right To Survive) because it’s even more important now.
How the vote went:

Grouped By Vote Position YEAs ---57 (Protect those who support suspicious behavior)

CAIR Objects To SANE

SANE stands for the Society of Americans for National Existence.

Follow-up to The Gathering Storm Radio Show of June 15 (Please ignore my techie kerfluffles during the first several minutes), when WC and I interviewed David Yerushalmi of SANE: CAIR is whining about The Mapping Shari'a in America Project.

I can't say what needs to be said any better than WC has in this posting. Excerpt:

In a response to an Insight Magazine article on a new project by the Society of Americans for National Existence (SANE) called Mapping Shari’a in America, CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations and "unindicted co-conspirator" in a plot to fund the terrorist group Hamas) called SANE a ‘hate group” and accused them of advocating "adherence to Islam" be punishable by 20 years in prison.

If you read the Insight article you will see that nothing is further from the truth....

Apparently, Mapping Shari'a and SANE have gotten on CAIR's nerves. Good!

CAIR's Money Trail

Check out this posting by Atlas Shrugs and the information she found in Investors Business Daily! Excerpt:
[L]and records unearthed by Paul Sperry, author of “Infiltration: How Muslim Spies and Subversives Have Penetrated Washington,” show that exactly one year after 9/11 — as its dues were drying up — CAIR signed over the deed to its Washington headquarters to a United Arab Emirates-based foundation headed by the ruler of Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Maktoum’s foundation put up almost $1 million for the property, and recently pledged $50 million more to help CAIR build larger headquarters, replenish its legal war chest and fund a nationwide pro-Islam propaganda campaign.

The New York Times earlier this year confirmed that “wealthy Persian Gulf governments” — including the UAE and Saudi Arabia — were backing CAIR. “CAIR has raised some suspicion by accepting large donations from individuals or foundations closely identified with Arab governments,” the story said.

We also know from federal court records that CAIR received startup cash from the Holy Land Foundation, which the government has shut down as another Hamas front. Several of its founders — including a senior CAIR official — go on trial next month in Texas for allegedly funneling millions to Hamas for suicide-bomb operations.
Follow the money trail.

The Decline Of CAIR?

(All emphases by Always On Watch)

From this article in the June 12, 2007 Washington Times:
Membership in the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has declined more than 90 percent since the 2001 terrorist attacks, according to tax documents obtained by The Washington Times.

The number of reported members spiraled down from more than 29,000 in 2000 to fewer than 1,700 in 2006. As a result, the Muslim rights group's annual income from dues dropped from $732,765 in 2000, when yearly dues cost $25, to $58,750 last year, when the group charged $35.

The organization instead is relying on about two dozen donors a year to contribute the majority of the money for CAIR's budget, which reached nearly $3 million last year.

[...]

CAIR listed contributors in its Form 990 filings with the Internal Revenue Service, but the IRS redacted all the names before releasing the documents.

In 2001, 26 contributors gave more than $1.6 million; in 2002, 26 gave more than $2.6 million; in 2003, 24 gave more than $2 million; in 2004, 20 gave more than $1.4 million; in 2005, 19 contributed $1.3 million.
One has to wonder who those deep-pocketed donors are and if those donors have anything to do with the following:
In 2004, a federal grand jury returned a 42-count indictment against the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development and seven officers for raising money for Hamas, money laundering and falsifying tax returns. The Holy Land trial begins July 16 in Dallas, and CAIR is listed among 300 new co-conspirators filed May 29 [2007] in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

According to the government's trial brief, filed May 29, CAIR is an entity "who are, and or were, members of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood's Palestine Committee and/or its organization."

Mousa Abu Marzook, a former CAIR official, "has been since 1995, a specially designated terrorist and Hamas leader," the brief said.
Predictably, CAIR is complaining:
Mr. Ahmed called the Justice Department's brief "a McCarthyite political move that allows the government to smear major American Muslim groups, including hundreds of mosques representing hundreds of thousands of ordinary Muslims nationwide, without any evidence being offered in a court of law and without legal recourse for those defamed."

"It is unfortunate that the Justice Department apparently violated its own guidelines, which indicate that such lists are to remain sealed to prevent unfair and un-American labeling of those who are not facing any criminal charges," Mr. Ahmed said.
Apparently, CAIR represents few American Muslims, despite the organization's being quite prominent on news interviews and as advocates for Muslim rights in certain cases (i.e., that of the six praying imams). The above-cited article also contains information indicating that CAIR is full of taqiyya, although the Washington Times doesn't use the term:
CAIR constantly notes in its press releases that it cooperates with federal law-enforcement activities and claims to conduct sensitivity training for Homeland Security officials. A February press release from CAIR's Chicago office says it met with Homeland Security immigration officials and made an agreement to "conduct sensitivity training to [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] officers and possibly prison personnel."

Homeland Security officials deny such claims and a check of the Office of Management and Budget Watch database of government contracts since 2000 shows CAIR has never been awarded a grant or a government contract.
"The department does not have a formalized relationship with that particular organization," said one Homeland Security official speaking on the condition of anonymity.
Might a not-formalized relationship be an informal one? After all, government officials and representatives from federal law-enforcement sometimes attend CAIR banquets and other events at which CAIR provides sensitivity training. Also, consider this, from May 7, 2007, as listed on CAIR's web site:
CAIR-CT TRAINS FBI AGENTS ON ISLAM

(NEW LONDON, CT, 5/7/07) - Representatives of the Connecticut chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CT) recently offered diversity and sensitivity training on Islam and Muslims to officials at the New Haven office of the FBI.

The hour-long training included information on basic Islamic beliefs and practices.
The above is just one example. Here are some more, with links for CAIR chapter involvements (According to CAIR a partial listing including Florida, Maryland, Ohio, Michigan, New York, Arizona, California, Kentucky, St. Louis, and San Antonio) and the following bulleted list:
• Recently received a letter from the commissioner of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement highlighting the positive working relationship between the department and CAIR-FL
• Conducted sensitivity trainings for the FBI in Orlando and Jacksonville
• Held a joint press conference with the FBI and several other law enforcement agencies seeking information on a person wanted for questioning
• Participated in an 8-week Police Community Relations Leadership Program with the Miami Dade Police Department
• In collaboration with the FBI, FDLE, BSO and several other law enforcement agencies, coordinated a forum with state Islamic leaders
• Participated in several town hall meetings with FBI, FDLE, and U.S. Attorney's office discussing the issues of security and liberty
Uncontracted relationships, I suppose. Then, again, the information comes from CAIR's web site, which isn't exactly the epitome of veracity.
