My Computers And I

The woes are getting fewer and weaker, but I'm still having them.





This commercial sums up my agony over the past several weeks:



If only Travelers Insurance could do something about ALL of my woes, including but not limited to my never-ending computer woes!

Anyway, a homeschool dad has graciously been helping me with my laptop, the computer in the worse shape (as compared to my desktop). He's installing Ubuntu, so I'll have to learn a new interface.

Warren has been helping me with my desktop: teaching me how to disable unwanted toolbars, trimming down the applications running on start up, etc. But now that I've installed AVG 2011, that program is having some kind of conflict with my firewall. **sigh**

As the song in the video says, "Trouble, trouble, trouble" and "Worry, worry, worry."

Obama Doesn't Admit The Meaning Of November 2

So, our Blabber In Chief will be on 60 Minutes this weekend to say that his message hasn't gotten across.

I've seen a preview of the interview. Obama's pretended humility cannot cover up his blatant narcissism.

But, of course, CBS's Early Show this morning is heavily promoting the upcoming edition of 60 Minutes.

Kathleen Parker's recent essay in the Washington Post explains how pathetic Obama's analysis of Tuesday's election results is:

Blindsided by their own blindness

Two words: Narrative, schmarrative.

Democrats have talked endlessly about the importance of narrative - missing in President Obama's case. We've heard over and over about the lack of smart messaging and the president's failure to communicate. If only Obama could better express himself, all would be well.

Seriously? This is the same president whose soaring rhetoric once sent his ratings into the heavenly realm and who, after assuming office, never stopped expressing himself.

For months, he was everywhere. Talking, talking, talking. Admit it. How many times did you flip on the tube and say, "Omigod, he's talking again"? Several Teleprompters had to take early retirement from sheer exhaustion.

Here's a narrative: You can't sell people what they don't want, no matter how mellifluous your pitch. This is the clear message of the midterm elections...

Obama didn't need to be a better communicator. He needed to be a better listener. End of story.

Will Nancy Lose Her Gavel?

Even if Democrats retain a slim majority in the House this November, Speaker Nancy Pelosi could have an insurrection on her hands from moderate Democrats looking for a change in leadership.

Rep. Gene Taylor, D-Miss., who two weeks ago threw a colossal insult at his party by joining Republicans in a pledge to repeal the health care law, stepped out of line again over the weekend by telling a pair of Capitol Hill newspapers he wants someone other than Pelosi leading the chamber...

The day of reckoning comes around sooner or later, one way or another.

For this ninth anniversary of 9/11, as Barack Hussein Obama and a whole raft of others try to sing kumbaya with the Islamic world, we see that the left would like for all of us to forget 9/11 and ignore the still-present threat of Islamic terrorism.

I won't.

Not ever.

No matter how much revisionism is tossed out there for the dhimmis to suck up:

We need to stipulate that those men who brought down the Twin Towers were not Muslims. - Anushay Hossain [biography here]

What to say to that nonsense? Ms. Hossain spins a kumbaya yarn with her blatant revisionism. Her very words are an attempt to desecrate those murdered on 9/11.
