Obama's "Mongrel" Comment

I cringed when I first saw this video as what I heard hearkens back to something I never want to see or hear again:

Donald Douglas of American Power makes the following interesting point about Obama's term "mongrel," and the point made explains why I, one born in the South before the Civil Rights Movement, reacted as I did when I heard Obama refer to "mongrel":
D.W. Griffith’s 1915 motion picture The Birth of a Nation — originally titled The Clansman — a film which presented a re-writing of the actual history of post Civil War Reconstruction by the same Confederate traitors aginst whom the war had to be fought. It portrayed African-Americans in the post-Civil War South as depraved, lascivious beasts whose rampant lawlessness and alleged domination of the South — through military force and control of the state legislatures — threatened to destroy “Southern civilization” and “mongrelize the races”. The film asserts that this could only be stopped by the glorified lynchings and reign of terror carried out by the “honorable” new, secret order of the “chivalrous” Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

<…>

In most of the Northern cities where the The Birth of a Nation was scheduled to be shown, political fights exploded, and some small riots did occur in Philadelphia and elsewhere where the film was shown. The NAACP and others attempted to seek either a banning of the film completely, or to force the editing-out of the most egregious racist scenes. For the most part, those attempts were futile. Endless hearings were held before mayors, state legislatures, city councils, and state and city censorship boards across the country. The Illinois legislature voted 111-2 to ban the showing in that state, but eventually lost on judicial appeals filed by the film’s promoters.

Those hearings became platforms for the pro-Griffith lobby to pronounce the alleged virtues of eugenics. In New York City, Griffith’s lawyer Martin W. Littleton told Mayor Mitchell that the film was a protest against the mongrel mixture of black and white.”
Donald Douglas of American Power comments:
It is disgusting and putrid that a President of the United States bring this kind of filth language into the public discourse when our nation has moved so far past it. Laura Ingraham is correct, Obama is not “post-racial” — he is the most racial and divisive President we have ever had.
Is Obama deliberately trying to divide America along racial lines?

Last week, I posted the above at Infidel Bloggers Alliance. Note these comments from that thread:

Just as bothersome, or more so, is they way he says "white America" and then "we know more about it", making a distintion between the races.

When was the last time we heard a President use the term White America?

It's an interesting choice as to whether in his soul this represents a mistake (was he that nervous on the VIEW?) ..or a revelation of his inner self....

I submit that we're seeing the "revelation" of Obama's inner self, his racist core. What is your view?

Those Car Dealership Closures

Another item for the "it's-our-turn-now" files, from Reliapundit, webmaster of THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS, citing this source:
INSPECTOR GENERAL: RACE/GENDER MOTIVATED CAR DEALER CLOSURES

“The Obama administration, already under fire for unprecedented allegations of racial bias, faces a new bias claim from a most unlikely source: one of the administration’s own inspectors general. Decisions on which car dealerships to close as part of the auto industry bailout — closures the Obama administration forced on General Motors and Chrysler — were based in part on race and gender, according to a report by Troubled Asset Relief Program Special Inspector General Neal M. Barofsky.”
For all of Obama's pretense of supporting equality, he is, in fact, doing quite the opposite.

Is such polarization an essential part of his agenda?

Damage All Around

Recently, Andrew Breitbart of BigGovernment posted "Video Proof: The NAACP Awards Racism–2010," in which he stated:
Sherrod’s racist tale is received by the NAACP audience with nodding approval and murmurs of recognition and agreement. Hardly the behavior of the group now holding itself up as the supreme judge of another groups’ racial tolerance.
In my view, that point about the NAACP audience is being missed by those who don't visit "the right-wing blogosphere" or watch Fox News.

Despite Breitbart's protestations to the contrary, CNN has turned "Shirley Sherrod's Story," as that edition was entitled, into a tale excoriating Fox News Channel, specifically Bill O'Reilly, who called for Ms. Sherrod's resignation on his show earlier this week.

Yesterday afternoon, CNN showed the full video of Ms. Sherrod's speech to the NAACP, a special show that I watched on the plasma television at the car dealer, when I took in my vehicle for scheduled service. Several others were also in the customer-service area at the car dealership.

I could see it on their faces: they are now discounting "the right-wing blogosphere" and deeming Fox News as unfit sources of information.

Now, while I was waiting at the car dealership, sometimes I couldn't always quite hear what CNN was saying. But the best that I recall now, CNN didn't cover the audience's sounds of approvals to what appeared to be the racist statements Ms. Sherrod was making in her speech to the NAACP, although CNN did, at the top of the video-loop screen, print in words the text of that portion of Ms. Sherrod's speech. Furthermore, the two black women I was sitting across from, were nodding their heads in agreement to every point that CNN made, including that Andrew Breitbart is a major player in the Tea Party Movement. Let me also add that a large part of yesterday's broadcast was self-congratulatory (paraphrase): "We at this network didn't fall for the scam because we don't broadcast a story until we fully investigate that story" [as in watching the entire video].

Over at this thread at MSNBC, the following comment well summarizes the reactions, black and white, in the customer-service waiting area:
When did this sort of stuff become OK? How is it possible in a country that claims to be the "best in the world"? How does this blog clown sleep at night? Oh, that's right, he's conservative.
For the record, HERE is the full video of Shirley Sherrod's speech at the NAACP. The video is long, but I do recommend that you watch it in its entirety.

This video clip of Keith Olbermann pretty much sums up the way the Shirley Sherrod story is playing out in the mainstream media, albeit not always so condemnatory of Obama:

Let's keep in mind that a lot of American voters base their decisions at the ballot box upon information they glean from the mainstream media.

Maybe there is plenty of loss of credibility to go around, including for the Obama administration, which was quite willing to throw Mr. Sherrod under the bus before watching the full video of her NAACP speech. However, based on what I saw yesterday in that waiting area at the car dealership, conservatives have taken a big hit on this one.

How many of those in the waiting area at the car dealership and how many American voters will see the Bill O'Reilly's rebuttal, which aired last night?

What is your view of the damage done in this Shirley Sherrod story?

Quote Of The Day

From Stogie of Saber Point, in reference to the the DOJ's independent review of the Johannes Mehserle verdict:

"Had the races been reversed, there would have been no federal retrial. Think of O.J. Simpson, an obvious double-murderer with mountains of seemingly irrefutable evidence of his guilt. A mostly black jury let him off. It was clearly a case of jury nullification, i.e., delivering a verdict that was contrary to the evidence. This was done because the black jurors did not see the case as the people vs. an accused murderer; they saw it as a case of white people vs. a black man. To the jurors, skin color pre-empted any consideration of justice or evidence. No Justice Department ever considered retrying O.J. He was the wrong color, as were his victims."

Barack Obama has a history with the New Black Panther Party, and the party had a page on Obama's campaign web site.

About Senator Robert C. Byrd

I don't believe in speaking ill of the dead, but I don't believe in making saints out of the dead, undeservedly either.

And, right now, as Senator Byrd's funeral rites approach, he's being spoken of in glowing terms.

Let's have a reality check on Senator Robert Byrd (hat tip to Feed Your ADHD):
* “They call me 'The Pork King,' they don't know how much I enjoy it.”

* “There are white niggers. I've seen a lot of white niggers in my time. I'm going to use that word…”

* “The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia.”

* “It is necessary that the order be promoted immediately and in every state in the Union…”

* “Will you please inform me as to the possibilities of rebuilding the Klan realm of W. Va.”

* “I will never submit to fight beneath that banner with a Negro by my side…”

* “Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again … than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrel … a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."
No wonder that the Ku Klux Klan actually suggested way back when that Robert Byrd seek political office.

Of course, like any other human being, Byrd wasn't all bad (source):
In 2004, he persuaded Congress to require schools and colleges to teach about the Constitution every Sept. 17, the day the document was adopted in 1787.
Can't argue with the fact that our Constitution should be studied in school; however, that study should take a lot more than one day.

At UC Irvine

(If you desire a break from politics, please scroll down to the post below)

From Infidel Bloggers Alliance:

Information about Malik Ali below the fold.

From Discover The Networks, an invaluable resource:
Amir-Abdel Malik-Ali (also known as Abdul Malik Ali and Abd Al-Malik) is a black Imam associated with the Masjid Al Islam mosque in Oakland. A graduate of San Francisco State University and a former Nation of Islam member, he is a frequent guest lecturer at Muslim Student Union and Muslim Students Association events. A passionate supporter of Hamas and Hezbollah, he helped organize a July 1999 rally in San Francisco at which Imam Abdul-Alim Musa proudly displayed a cashier’s check made out to “Hamas, Palestine.” Malik-Ali endorses suicide bombings as a legitimate “resistance” tactic: “Palestinian mothers are supporting their children who are suicide bombers, saying, ‘Go honey, go!’ That ain’t suicide; that’s martyrdom.”

[...]

Malik-Ali is a favorite guest speaker of UC Irvine’s Muslim Student Union (MSU).

[...]

Also among Malik-Ali’s notable quotes and positions are the following:
* “The enemies of Islam know that when we come back to power we’re gonna check ’em.”

* “Stay conscious and ask Allah to raise the Muslims and give us victory over the disbeliever.”

* “When it’s all over, the only one standing is gonna be us [Muslims].”

* “Sooner or later, today’s Muslim students will be the parents of Muslim children. And they should be militants.”

* “Neo-cons are all Zionist Jews.”

* “The wars against Iraq [Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom] were manufactured by the Jews in America to avert attention from the two [Palestinian] Intifadas.”

* “You [Jews] made all the mistakes we wanted you to make. You went after [former Georgia congresswoman] Cynthia McKinney. So now black folks don’t like you.... You’re walking into all the traps we want you to walk into. You hijacked American foreign policy.”

* “[T]he Israelis were in control of 9-11,” which “was staged to give an excuse to wage war against Muslims around the world.”

* Israelis ought to return “to Germany, to Poland, to Russia. The Germans should hook y’all up. You [Israelis] should go back to Germany.”

* “In America, you’re mostly fighting with your tongue, but you should also learn how to fight with the sword.”

* At the Sixth Annual Muslim Student Association Conference held at UC Berkeley in February 2004, Malik-Ali denounced “the white man, who is the enemy.”

* At the Universal Heritage Foundation’s December 2003 Islamic Conference in Florida, he warned moderate American Muslims that their desire to be “liked” was turning them into “‘house slaves’ in the mansion of a racist, imperialistic and destructive America.”

* He has described Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a “pretty good guy.”
Read it all. The article has embedded links.

Onyx Magazine, the annual awards gala of which is sponsored every year by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (Floridians, how are your health-insurance premiums these days?), has referred to Ali as "defender of the people."

Apparently, Ali is quite selective as to exactly which people he supports and defends.

One can hope that Ali doesn't gain much support on the campus of UC Irvine. But the fact remains that this traitor and racist is repeatedly invited back there.

Racial Preferences In ObamaKare

From Pajamas Media:
...[A]s we all know, the devil is always in the details. And on page 879 is one detail that few know about.

[...]

In an article written for the American Thinker...the bill specifies that the secretary of Health and Human Services, “in awarding grants or contracts under this section … shall give preferences to entities that have a demonstrated record of … training individuals who are from underrepresented minority groups or disadvantaged backgrounds.”

The bill doesn’t say what would qualify as a “demonstrated record,” so if ObamaCare passes you can expect that medical schools and other training institutions will do whatever they can to get away with training as many people as possible from so-called “disadvantaged backgrounds.”

By the way, if you’re poor and white, or Asian, or Jewish, don’t expect any advantage under this plan. The word “underrepresented” is inserted into the bill’s language to make it clear the preferences are aimed at giving a leg up to black and Hispanic students. According to the soft bigotry of the left, “underrepresented” is always meant to be read as “black” and “Latino.”
So much for the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Well, BHO did sit in Jeremiah Wright's congregation for years, so we shouldn't be surprised by any of BHO's racial preferences.

A reminder about Jeremiah Wright:

I saw the above sign and one similar to it, but didn't have time to snap the photo.

I do wonder how many Americans are quietly and silently sick and tired of the race card as BHO's teflon coating. And at what point will the race card become the losing card to play?

The Washington Post Plays The Race Card

(Two posts today. Please scroll down)

Likely, you've heard about this poster cropping up all over Los Angeles:

From this article in the Washington Post, about the above poster:
...[T]he poster is ultimately a racially charged image. By using the "urban" makeup of the Heath Ledger Joker, instead of the urbane makeup of the Jack Nicholson character, the poster connects Obama to something many of his detractors fear but can't openly discuss. He is black and he is identified with the inner city, a source of political instability in the 1960s and '70s, and a lingering bogeyman in political consciousness...

The Joker's makeup in "Dark Knight" -- the latest film in a long franchise that dramatizes fear of the urban world -- emphasized the wounded nature of the villain, the sense that he was both a product and source of violence. Although Ledger was white, and the Joker is white, this equation of the wounded and the wounding mirrors basic racial typology in America. Urban blacks -- the thinking goes -- don't just live in dangerous neighborhoods, they carry that danger with them like a virus. Scientific studies, which demonstrate the social consequences of living in neighborhoods with high rates of crime, get processed and misinterpreted in the popular unconscious, underscoring the idea....

It is an ugly idea, operating covertly in that gray area that is always supposed to be opened up to honest examination whenever America has one of its "we need to talk this through" episodes. But it lingers, unspoken but powerful, leaving all too many people with the sense that exposure to crime creates an ineluctable propensity to crime.

Superimpose that idea, through the Joker's makeup, onto Obama's face, and you have subtly coded, highly effective racial and political argument. Forget socialism, this poster is another attempt to accomplish an association between Obama and the unpredictable, seeming danger of urban life. It is another effort to establish what failed to jell in the debate about Obama's association with Chicago radical William Ayers and the controversy over the racially charged sermons of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Obama, like the Joker and like the racial stereotype of the black man, carries within him an unknowable, volatile and dangerous marker of urban violence, which could erupt at any time. The charge of socialism is secondary to the basic message that Obama can't be trusted, not because he is a politician, but because he's black.

I call BS on the above article!

The idea that we cannot criticize BHO's policies because any such criticism is racism is pure nonsense. Dangerous nonsense.

Comments at the WaPo web site can be found HERE. Last time I checked, comments totaled over 1600.

And the author of the article, Philip Kennicott, defends his article HERE.

A bit of dust rolling, I'd say.

BHO's Race Baiting Has Backfired

(Two posts today. Please scroll down)

As my friend Warren recently pointed out when discussing with me on the telephone BHO's comments about the Cambridge Police, "Obama was trying to re-energize his base."

Now comes the following video (hat tip to THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS), indicating that BHO may well have done the opposite. Please listen carefully to what the black woman says:

Of course, we shouldn't be surprised about BHO's views on "white folks." Consider the following video posted on YouTube in April of 2008. Even if you have viewed the video before, please watch it again in light of the recent Gates controversy:

In my view, BHO showed himself to be a racist during a scripted press conference on July 22, 2009, and his recent attempts to squirm out of the situation without any sincere apology serve to illustrate even further that BHO is not a post-racism American President. He just might turn out to be a one-term President after all!

The sad thing, of course, is that BHO's recent race baiting may do damage to race relations here in America.

Pastor James David Manning On Race Relations In The United States (Bumped)

(This post bumped because of the recent controversy surrounding BHO's statement that the police "acted stupidly" when arresting Henry Louis Gates, Jr.)

Just in case you're not familiar with Pastor Manning, he is the one who called BHO a "long-legged Mack Daddy." That controversial video is HERE (over 2 million viewers), and the explanation is HERE.

However, what I want readers to consider is the following video:

En Una Boca Cerrada, No Entran Moscas (With Addendum)

Literal translation of the title of this post: "Into a closed mouth, flies do not enter."

BHO would do well to learn that lesson, especially before commenting on an incident about which he himself admits not knowing the facts.

I am referring, of course, to his recent comment at a scripted press conference: "The police acted stupidly," in reference, of course, to the arrest of Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates, Jr., who acted the fool by mouthing off to police investigating a possible break-in at his home. In a recent essay in the Washington Post, journalist Neely Tucker put it this way:
When the Cops Are Called In, Anger Is a Dangerous Weapon to Brandish

One of the common-sense rules of life can be summed up this way: Don't Mess With Cops.

It doesn't matter if you are right, wrong, at home or on the street, or if you are white, black, Hispanic, Jewish, Muslim or whatever. When an armed law enforcement officer tells you to cease and desist, the wise person (a) ceases and (b) desists.

The End.

Like Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., I am interracially married, currently live in a predominantly white neighborhood, have a healthy respect for armed men wearing uniforms, and have had the police come to my house in a confrontational manner, doing the job they're paid to do....
Mr. Tucker goes on to tell a personal story. A must-read!

Today's Washington Post offers some facts about James Crowley, the officer whom BHO accused of acting stupidly:
Crowley grew up in a predominantly Irish Catholic neighborhood, where his family attended Mass regularly. The Boston Globe reported that in 1993, when he was working as an officer with the Brandeis University police force, he tried to resuscitate Boston Celtics star Reggie Lewis, who suffered a heart attack during a practice and died.

Crowley joined the Cambridge Police Department and was eventually tapped to teach a class on racial profiling at a police training academy.

Thomas Fleming, director of the police academy at the Lowell Police Department, which has a partnership with the Cambridge Police Department, said Crowley has taught the course for five years and has trained 300 recruits, none of whom have complained about him.
The same Washington Post article states the following:
Sgt. James Crowley said Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. was combative from the moment the officer arrived at his house last week to respond to a call about a possible burglary. As the confrontation escalated, Crowley said he warned Gates that he risked arrest.

"The second warning was with me holding a set of handcuffs in my hands -- something I really didn't want to do," Crowley said in a radio interview. "The professor at any time could have resolved the issue by quieting down and/or going back inside his house."

[...]

When Crowley arrived and questioned whether Gates lived in the home, the 58-year-old academic became upset, eventually demanding the officer's name and badge number so he could file a complaint. Crowley said Gates referred to Crowley's mother as a way of showing his displeasure.

When the officer repeatedly asked Gates to speak with him outside, the professor responded, "Ya, I'll speak with your mama outside," Crowley wrote in a police report.
Charges against Police Officer Gates have been dropped, but further investigation into the entire record of this officer continues. Officer Gates also refuses to apologize for his actions at the Harvard scholar's home.

Meanwhile, Police Officer Crowley is making saner comments than BHO:
Of Obama, Crowley said in an interview with Boston's WBZ-AM: "I support the president of the United States 110 percent. I think he's way off base wading into a local issue without knowing all the facts as he himself stated before he made that comment."
BHO showed the racist chip on his shoulder and would do well to listen to this sermon by Pastor James David Manning. And instead of blabbing on from the bully pulpit in reference to a matter about which he admits that he doesn't know the facts, BHO should remember that all his words should be worthy of the office he holds.

Particularly when one doesn't know the facts, "Silence is golden," or, in Spanish, "En una boca cerrada, no entran moscas."

Addendum: Please see this post of some personal observations by Revere Rides Again over at Infidel Bloggers Alliance. Excerpt:
This afternoon I drove to Cambridge, MA, in order to view the site of the 7/16/09 arrest of Harvard University Professor Henry Louis Gates for disorderly conduct. Specifically I wanted to try to spot any visible signs of agitation in the immediate neighborhood connected with this story. I am very familiar with the area, having attended night classes at the university some years ago....

Sotomayor And La Raza

First, a bit of background on Atzlan and La Raza, from this source:
La Raza teaches that Colorado, California, Arizona, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon and parts of Washington State make up an area known as “Aztlan” — a fictional ancestral homeland of the Aztecs before Europeans arrived in North America. These areas belong to the Latinos and Latinas and must be surrendered to “La Raza” once enough immigrants, legal or illegal, come to constitute a majority, as in Los Angeles. Once this is achieved, the current borders of the United States will simply be obliterated.

But the “reconquista” won’t end with territorial occupation and secession. The final plan for the La Raza movement includes the ethnic cleansing of Americans of European, African, and Asian descent out of “Aztlan.”

Miguel Perez, a La Raza spokesman at Cal State-Northridge, has been quoted as saying: “The ultimate ideology is the liberation of Aztlan. Communism would be closest [to it]. Once Aztlan is established, ethnic cleansing would commence: Non-Chicanos would have to be expelled — opposition groups would be quashed because you have to keep power.”
And what is Sonia Sotomayor's connection to La Raza?
Senorita Sotomayor served on the governing board of La Raza for six years.
I fail to understand why this association alone disqualifies Sonia Sotmayor from serving as a justice on the Supreme Court. For that matter, why is she sitting on ANY court?

Of course, the left will say that it is racist for me even to bring up that Sonia Sotomayor has connections with a racist organization.

Meanwhile, the circus (aka Senate hearings) to confirm her nomination continues. And Republicans so far refuse to ask the tough questions about the nominees connections to the Latino KKK.

Convict And Terrorist Denied Access To BHO's Books

As pointed out yesterday by Pastorius and Z, BHO's books have been deemed as problematic by the most secure federal prison in the United States. Both Z have Pastorius cited this article from the AP in their postings. Excerpt from the AP article:
No Obama books for Supermax con

MCLEAN, Va. — The federal government's most secure prison has determined that two books written by President Barack Obama contain material "potentially detrimental to national security" and rejected an inmate's request to read them.

Ahmed Omar Abu Ali [valedictorian graduate of the Islamic Saudi Academy in Fairfax County, Virginia] is serving a 30-year sentence at the federal Supermax prison in Florence for joining al-Qaeda and plotting to assassinate then-President George W. Bush. Last year, Abu Ali requested two books written by Obama: "Dreams from My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope." But prison officials, citing guidance from the FBI, determined that passages in both books contain information that could damage national security....
Although the prison ban of BHO's books relates to pages about foreign affairs, Pastorius also reminds us that BHO's books promote racism and cites the following brief excerpt from Dreams of My Father:

In other words, "white folks' greed" is the cause of all the world's problems.

More words from BHO:

A bit of speculation now on my part....No wonder that Ahmed Abu Ali, terrorist graduate from Terror High (aka the Islamic Saudi Academy) wants to check out BHO's books, even though Abu Ali is of Arab descent and not black. By reading BHO's books, Abu Ali can continue to feed his perpetual attitude of victimhood because the words "The West" could be easily substituted for "white folks," "white people," "white" anything. Or perhaps Abu Ali wants to reinforce his anti-American views by reading BHO's books.

Abu Ali may sue so as to get access to BHO's books:
He already has a lawyer, who spoke to the AP briefly about this episode. Abu Ali also filed a handwritten prison complaint form, saying the Obama book rejections “violate my 1st Amend. rights.”

An official at Abu Ali’s prison, in Florence, Colo., referred comment to the FBI, where a spokesperson said she was still looking into the matter.

For the record, the prison cited one questionable page in “Dreams from my Father” and 22 such pages in “The Audacity of Hope.”
He must really want those books, which he apparently asked for even before BHO was elected:
The report says the prisoner...requested Obama’s books last year before he won the presidency. After being denied, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali began a hunger strike (he has since started eating again).
I thought that felons automatically lost certain civil rights, particularly while in prison. Apparently not.

By the way, Arab racism toward blacks is well documented. It is unlikely that fundamentalist Moslem and aspiring Presidential murderer Abu Ali wants to read BHO's books out of admiration for the author.

Let me pose a question for my readers: Is it alarming that something in books written by a sitting President of the United States is so dangerous that Abu Ali has been denied access to those books?
